As has become a tradition in the last number of years, Swift Current city council voted on Monday to reduce the number of council meetings held during the summer months.

The move, as always, comes in order to accommodate vacation time for not only council members themselves, but also members of Administration.

Presented by City Clerk, Jackie Schlamp, the vote to cancel the council meetings on July 12, 2021, and August 9, 2021, was unanimous and passed without questions from the assembled council members.

In reading the motion, Schlamp mentioned that the administration "will continue to work within the current time parameters to ensure all matters are brought before council prior to the onset of summer vacation."

She added that in the event that a time-sensitive matter did come up, a special council meeting could be called with the council's consent.
