Cypress Hills Eco-Adventures took home the Small or Medium Sized Business of the Year Award at The Tourism Industry Association of Canada's Industry Awards.

The event was held on Wednesday in Ottawa, and President and CEO of Eco-Adventures, Jori Kirk, says it was a humbling night to be recognized at such a prestigious award ceremony.

"It was an interesting night just seeing the caliber of different businesses that were at these awards along with us. It was almost surreal. You're seeing all these things like the Chateau Frontenac in Montreal, The Rocky Mountaineer Train, and all of those companies, and it was such an odd feeling being recognized with all of those people in the same room."

Kirk adds Saskatchewan's tourism industry in general played a large part in their success.

"I don't think that you ever get to this level without just a million other people playing a part in it. By that I mean things like Tourism Saskatchewan has been a huge help to us, Sask Parks has been a huge help and a great partner. We've had good employees and staff that have really bought in to what we're trying to do as owners of the company."

Eco-Adventures will also be opening their second ziplining location at Elk Ridge Resort in May of 2015.
