Rider Fans can roll up their sleeves and bleed green for a great cause this season.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders and Canadian Blood Services will be teaming up for the second year in a row for the Bleed Green Campaign. The campaign has several incentives to get fans to donate blood, including the chance to carry the Canadian flag at a Roughriders home game this season.

Communications Specialist Johanna Green explains the first year of the campaign was a very successful one.

Green adds this time of year can be challenging for collecting blood, because regular donors routines tend to change and they may be on holidays, so they need to rely on first-time donors, and through Bleed Green, they are able to ask fans to donate blood, possibly for the first time, and play a role in saving lives.

The next Blood Donor Clinic in Swift Current is set for June 14 and 15 at Bridgeway Community Church.
