The Eastend Swimming Pool recently received a donation from Innovation Credit Union.

Innovation Credit Union says they were thrilled to donate $5,000 to the Eastend Pool.

President of the Eastend Swimming Pool Committee, Chris Girard, said the donation was a total surprise, but they will definitely be able to put the money to good use.

"We've done some recent renovations and we built a sun-shade, which we had partly donated and we did fundraise for - some of the money will go towards that. The rest of the money will possibly be saved for future renovations, or go towards pool maintenance."

The donation announcement came from Innovation Credit Union just before Christmas.
