Swift Current's Griffin Duncalfe and Wymark's Shaye Wall are returning to the southwest with gold medals after Team Saskatchewan came out victorious in men's volleyball at the Canada Games in Ontario's Niagara Region.

Saskatchewan captured gold after beating Alberta in Sunday's final match three sets to one (25-21, 25-17, 25-27, 25-22).

Duncalfe and Wall join Alexandria Metke of Cadillac, who won silver in wrestling, as Canada Games medallists from the southwest.

Saskatchewan finished the games with 32 medals (three gold, 13 silver and 16 bronze) and seventh in the medal standings. Ontario led the way in the medal count with 198 and Alberta won the Centennial Cup as the most improved team, finishing ahead of Saskatchewan by one point.

The next Canada Winter Games are in Prince Edward Island in 2023 while the next summer games will be in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, in 2025.
