Average weekly earnings are up again in Saskatchewan.

The latest numbers from Stats Canada say earnings in the province rose five per cent over May 2009, the highest increase in Western Canada and the second highest in the country.

The average weekly earnings of $843.11 is the third highest in Canada, behind Alberta and Ontario.

Employment Minister Rob Norris says it's another reason to be optimistic about Saskatchewan's economy, and job prospects in the province are strong thanks to record employment and strong growth projections.

Meanwhile, those making minimum wage won't be getting a raise in the next while.

The Provincial Government announced today that they will be holding the province's minimum wage steady at $9.25 until the Minimum Wage Board completes its next minimum wage review. That is not expected to be complete until December 31, 2011.
