Golfers will be happy to hear that they can now practice their swing all year round at Elmwood Golf and Country Club.

Today is the grand opening of their brand new indoor/outdoor hitting facility which head pro Jeff Chambers says will keep golfers happy throughout the seasons.

"Basically it has the ability to hit shots in all sorts of weather so that if it starts raining, a little windy or anything else you can still hit in a controlled atmosphere straight on to the range. We have big garage doors that will open and then it has the capabilities of hitting throughout the
Winter as well."

Chambers says he was inspired to have one after seeing it at another course.

"I got the idea from a place at the St. Charles Club in Winnipeg and it's the first of it's kind out there. We are very excited that right here in Swift Current that we have this new facility and it's looking great. Everybody that has come round to look at it is just amazed by it and were just ready to launch it."

This facility is the first of its kind in the province as well as one of the first in Canada and also includes video tracking for golf coaching and feedback.

The public can view the facility today during the grand opening from 11am-5pm.
