The first win of the 2019 season was earned yesterday by Elmwood Golf and Country Club head pro Brennan Rumancik.

At the PGA of Saskatchewan Zone Championship up in Nipawin, Rumancik pulled away on Day 2 to take a four-shot victory.

Holding a share of the lead at -2 (70) after Day 1 at the par-72 Evergreen Golf Course on Monday, Rumancik posted a final-round -3 (69) for a two-round score of -5.

The reigning PGA of Sask Player of the Year was the lone golfer to shoot under par on Day 2.

Meanwhile Elmwood teaching professional Jeff Chambers ended up in seventh place at +7.

The next event on the PGA of Sask summer circuit is back in Swift Current. Elmwood Golf and Country Club is set to host the Pro Junior Tourney on July 29.
