As the heatwave continues in the southwest, one reliable way to cool down is coming to a close as this is the last weekend for the Fairview Pool season in Swift Current.
And with the recent high temperatures, the outdoor pool has been very busy place.
"The summer was pretty good overall," said Melissa White, Aquatics Superintendent with the City of Swift Current. "The weather didn't really cooperate with us at the start of the season but these last few weeks have been really good. We have seen lots of people coming out and enjoying it so it has been really good."
The pool will close at the end of the day on Monday, and White adds that their second annual Pooch Plunge, a fundraiser for the new Swift Current Dog Park, will take place that evening. It's $5 to enter and runs from 6:00 until 8:30 that night after family swim.
The Aquatic Centre will open for the winter season on Friday, September 6th, at 6:00am.
