Government of Saskatchewan

The Saskatchewan Government is increasing the fines for serious hunting and fishing offenses.

Fines for infractions such as unlawful hunting, unlawful possession and use of a vehicle for hunting have increased from $500 to $1000, plus an increased animal or bird fee that now can range from $100 to $1000, depending on the species.

Maximum fines for illegal fishing, including angling out of season, exceeding limits and using prohibited methods for fishing are now at $2000.

The fines for illegal hunting date back to 2000 while the fines for unlawful fishing haven't been changed since the mid 1990s.
