For over seven hours, the Swift Current Fire Department worked to contain a fire at a business at 1960 Greenbelt Street in Swift Current.

A total of 15 full-time firefighters and nine auxiliary firefighters, along with five vehicles responded to put out the blaze after an individual in the vicinity of the fire reported excessive smoke coming from the building.

No one was injured in the fire and during the fire event, four large trucks were able to be removed by fire personnel from the east side of the building. The west half of the building suffered heavy damage.

The fire department arrived at the scene shortly after 7:50 p.m. on Wednesday, and fire personnel were on the scene until 3:15 a.m. Thursday morning.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown and is under investigation.
