Maple Creek continues to dry up and clean up from Friday's flood.

Yesterday, Doug Johnson with the Saskatchewan Watershed Authority confirmed what many knew already.  The flooding was, indeed, the worst the community has ever seen.

Mayor Barry Rudd says the town is still under a state of emergency, and many evacuees are still out of their homes, but most have returned voluntarily.  He says recovery is now well underway, with volunteers assessing the damage and cleaning up the town.

Rudd adds, it's unknown at this time what the extent of the damage actually is.

He says the response to the flooding has been incredible, with people helping out from within the community and way beyond.

Rudd adds, thankfully, no one was injured, and no lives were lost.
