Communities, farmers, travellers, and truckers aren't the only ones affected by all of the water in the southwest.

CP Rail has shut down their main line from Swift Current to Medicine Hat as well.

Spokesman Kevin Hrysak says they are just attempting to evaluate the damage since there is so much water.  "As a result, the high water has affected the CP right-of-way in various locations between Swift Current and Medicine Hat, but more specifically Maple Creek to Medicine Hat.  We are currently assessing the impact as the water recedes, but just like the Trans-Canada Highway closure, our portions of our southern main line are closed in that area as well."

Trains are being diverted through Regina to the north and are bypassing Moose Jaw and Swift Current altogether until they can get the damage fixed.
