The Midway at Frontier Days in Swift Current, 2012

Frontier Days is in the books for another year.

Over 20,000 people from Swift Current and all over Saskatchewan and beyond came out to the four-day fair and took in the rides with the West Coast Amusements Midway, grandstand concerts and Sunday night's fireworks.

Swift Current Ag and Ex President Wade Jensen said it was a stellar weekend with a great turnout.

"A lot of the guys from the West Coast Amusements that I've talked to said their numbers are up, so they're very happy," said Jensen. "It's not just our economy that we stimulate, it's all over the world because these guys travel so much."

With this year's fair all wrapped up, plans for next year are already underway for what should be a special event, as 2013 marks the 75th Anniversary of Frontier Days.

"We're obviously going to be working towards doing some great stuff for that. We've got back-to-back, first the 75th Anniversary and then the 100 year for Swift Current, so it's going to be great," said Jensen.
