Premier Brad Wall says, when it comes to essential services, Saskatchewan needs to catch up with the rest of the country.

The Premier says, despite opposition from the unions, his government will be moving ahead with essential services legislation in the coming days.

Wall adds, Saskatchewan will be the last province to either have tabled or passed essential serivces legislation, which requires unions and employers to work out a plan in order to make sure that public safety is protected if there is a strike or lockout.

The government is also working on changes to the Trade Union Act to fulfill one of the promises that was made in the Party's platform.
