The Shaunavon Fire Department responded to a grass fire on Saturday afternoon, August 26th at approximately 5:20 p.m.

The fire was located two miles west and one mile south of Dollard. Shaunavon Fire Chief, Dean McNabb, says it was under control very quickly.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, as there were no persons close by when the fire started.

The Fire Chief, once again, reminds everyone that conditions are very dry around the area as harvest continues. He applauds local farmers, though, many of whom, he says, have water trucks near by while combining in case of a fire.
