Shaunavon firefighters were called out yesterday afternoon, just after 3:00pm.

Crews responded to a grass and structure fire northwest of Shaunavon.

Shaunavon Fire Chief, Dean McNabb says there was no electricity running to the old farmyard, so the cause of the fire is uncertain.  He says exhaust sparks from vehicles could have caused it.

McNabb reminds everyone that conditions are still very dry during the day, and caution should be exercised when driving through tall grass.

The blaze was contained to the old farmyard, and destroyed three structures.
