An Edmonton man has been sentenced in Regina Provincial Court for 21 charges relating to counterfeit money.

 

39 year old Sean Lewis Gratrix entered guilty pleas to 16 counts of uttering counterfeit money, 4 counts of possession of counterfeit money, and one count of being in possession of instruments suitable for producing counterfeit money.

He was charged after a number of incidents between April and August of this year where counterfeit 100 dollar bills were used to purchase items in a number of communities across Saskatchewan including Swift Current, Gull Lake, and Maple Creek.

The judge sentenced Gratrix to 18 months in jail less five months credit for time served.
