A 41-year-old Ponteix man was sentenced to jail time in Swift Current Provincial Court yesterday afternoon.

     Timothy Joseph Wilcox was sentenced to nine months in jail, with 2 1/2 years' probation to follow for a possession of child pornography charge, stemming from a March 9, 2008 incident.

     He also received two additional months in jail for a charge of uttering threats, stemming from an incident that took place over the weekend.

     Wilcox also has to follow a number of conditions upon his release, including registering as a sex offender for 10 years; he is not allowed to have any contact with anyone under the age of 16; he cannot be within one block of any schools; and he is banned for life from places where children might be present, such as parks and playgrounds.
