The final touches are being done for the 2007 Harvest Festival.

Executive Director Jack Peters, says the aim of the event is to provide kids with an alternative to Trick-or-Treating, as well as a safe environment for kids to have fun on Halloween.  He says the City has rallied to provide a safe night for kids aged 12 and under.  This is something he says is important with the increasing number of incidents on Halloween in Canada over the years.

Each child is asked to bring a toonie, which is donated to the Women's Safe Shelter.

Peters adds that last year, the festival raised $680 for the Shelter.

The Harvest Festival will be held at the Alpine Church, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm on October 31st.
