With the harvest season underway Farmers are being reminded to keep safety a priority.

Farm Safety Administrator for the Saskatchewan Safety Council Patrick Kurtz says accidents and fatalities seem to have remained at a fairly steady number.   He says if you look over the last 20 or 30 years, certainly the numbers have come down.  Even back 25- 30 years we had numbers that were higher but the last 5 to 10 years, in general, we have leveled off at that 10 area.  Kurtz adds that it is crucial for farmers to make sure they are getting enough rest during the harvest season to help prevent accidents.
