Unionized health care support workers in the Cypress Health Region will see pay increases each year until 2017.

SEIU-West has agreed to a five year collective agreement with the Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations and the employees will be paid retroactivley for 2012 and 2013.

"We believe that these wage adjustments over the five year period actually puts the vast majority of our classifications out there into a competitive wage spot so we can retain employees that we need," said Bernie Young SA-HO's Interim C-E-O.

The new deal also increases shift and standby rate premiums, and transportation allowances.

"It provides a period of stability for the union and it's members employees and the health region itself for the next three years," said Young.
