It'll be harder to stay cool for the next few days.

A heat warning has been issued that encompasses most of the province with the exception of the far north-east corner.

With temperatures climbing to over 35 degrees celsius, combined with night-time lows no lower than 16 being expected for the next few days, the temperatures are expected to peak in the mid-thirties under sunny skies and light winds.

Temperatures tonight will be a few degrees warmer than last night, offering less relief from the heat as the temperatures soar again tomorrow.  South of the Yellowhead highway, those conditions will continue into Thursday while the north will begin to see some relief.

Environment and Climate Change Canada is warning everyone to look for the signs of heat illness:

  • Swelling;
  • Rash;
  • Cramps;
  • Fainting;
  • Heat Exhaustion;
  • Heat Stroke;
  • Worsening of some preexisting health conditions.

And as usual, please do not leave pets or people in parked vehicles.
