The 2017-18 Brad Hornung Trophy for most sportsmanlike player of the year goes to Swift Current Broncos forward Aleksi Heponiemi.

The Finn had a season to remember producing 2.07 points per game with 118 points in only 57 games, while leading the league in assists with 90 and also adding 28 goals.

Heponiemi was only in the penalty box for 28 minutes of penalties.

Heponiemi, listed at 5 foot 10, 141 pounds, was selected 40th overall in last summer's NHL Entry Draft. He drafted at pick 10 in the first round in the 2016 CHL Import Draft.

In a total of 129 career games he has 204 points with 56 goals and 148 assists.

This award is the second year in a row that a Bronco has won the award, after Heponiemi's linemate Tyler Steenbergen received it in 2016-17. Ian White and Rick Girard also won the Brad Hornung with the community-owned franchise.
