The province's Minister of Learning is questioning the Sask Party's proposal to reimburse communities with money they would save by closing schools.

The proposal was made last week, offering up to 350-thousand dollars for communities who are on the brink of economic growth.

Minister of Learning, Deb Higgins wonders where the extra 7 to 14 million dollars will come from, with no additional money currently sitting in the Foundation Operating Grant, the formula which is used to disperse funds to schools throughout the province.

Higgins adds by making the announcement, the Sask Party is implying School Divisions didn't do their job properly, something she doesn't agree with.
