The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train made a pitstop in Swift Current last week, Swift Current just one stop of 150 for the train across Canada and the US on its 17th tour.

The train began its journey across Canada and the US at the end of November, aiming to raise awareness for food banks and general hunger issues across the two countries.

Deputy Mayor Ryan Plewis spoke on behalf of city council at the event, and a CP representative presented Don Grad and his wife with a cheque for $5,500 for the Salvation Army after a few holiday tunes.

Kira Isabella and Doc Walker performed for the crowd that came out to see the train.
