Local residents will have the opportunity to improve their serve this summer thanks to some free tennis clinics being offered by the city and Tennis Saskatchewan.

Val Choo-Foo, In-Motion Community Facilitator with the city provides some details on the upcoming clinics.

"We are partnering with Tennis Saskatchewan to host four free tennis clinics and like any clinics, it's a great opportunity for community members to learn or even improve their tennis skills. We're going to offer these clinics on July 13th, 20th, 27th, and August 3rd and they will be at the north Riverside tennis courts."

Each day the clinics are separated into different sessions according to ages.

Youth aged 10 – 14: 3:30 to 4:30 PM
Children aged 6 – 9: 5:30 to 6:30 PM
Anyone aged 15 and older: 7:00 to 8:30 PM

Choo-Foo adds that everyone is welcome to participate.

"The instructor comes from Regina from Tennis Saskatchewan and comes with a lot of experience and skills to share as well as extreme enthusiasm around the sport of tennis. We ask anybody whether they are brand new  to tennis or want to refresh their game and skills they can come on out."

Registration opens Monday, June 21st. Participants are asked to pre-register online here by July 5th.

Participants are asked to come prepared with comfy shoes and a water bottle and can bring their own equipment if they have some or equipment will be provided.

Should the weather not cooperate on those days, clinics will be moved over to the Lt. Colonel Clifton Center.
