A balanced effort on offence helped the Swift Current Indians get past the Melville Millionaires in WMBL action Friday night.

The Tribe had 13 hits and five different batters had two-hit games in an 8-5 win on the road. Alex Tufts struck out three batters over eight innings for a solid win on the mound, while Chris Haddeland pitched no-hit ball in the ninth to pick up the save.

The back half of the home-and-home goes this afternoon at Mitchell Field, and you can hear the game on the Eagle 94.1, with the first pitch at 3:05.

In minor ball, the Midget AA Indians dropped a 7-5 decision in Saskatoon Friday, and they return to action Tuesday when they host Regina. The Midget A Indians start a weekend road trip in Regina today, then head up to Bethune to play tomorrow, and the Pee Wee AA Indians are in Estevan for a double header today, then head to Weyburn for another pair of games tomorrow.
