With record breaking temperatures this summer, there's no doubt air conditioning units are being used to full capacity here in the Southwest, as residents try to keep cool.

But what happens when your vehicle's A/C breaks down? Ken Erickson, Service Manager at Cypress Motors says it may take some time before work can be done at this time of the year.

Erickson says some ways to help protect your vehicle during extreme temperatures are to keep your gas tank over half full to protect your fuel pump, and not run your A/C initially at start up as it makes things easier on the compressor clutches and pump.

Erickson adds that they can help people out if something is wrong with their vehicle, but they are booked pretty solid for two weeks.
