Two children in Regina had to be rescued by police from a car parked at a mall in blistering heat Tuesday afternoon.

A passerby found a baby and a five-year-old left inside an unlocked car at the Golden Mile Shopping Centre on South Albert as the temperature topped 31 degrees. The vehicle was not running and the two children were showing signs of heat distress when they got out.

Police found the parent shopping inside the mall, and left them off with a warning.
