The 7th annual Kiwanis Golf Tourney gets off to a shotgun start at 1 p.m. this afternoon at the Chinook Golf Course in Swift Current.

"We are welcoming all male, female or mixed teams and the Texas Scramble format is best ball format, so each four-person or three-person team, whatever it happens to be, we're using the best ball," said Tournament Co-Chair Karla Wiens. "All funds raised go directly toward the Swift Current Kiwanis Club and they are used to support our annual youth-focused initiatives in our community."

Youth-directed activities include projects such as Christmas Tree Sales, and Fall Apple Drive, and helping to pay for Spookerama, K-Kids, Youth Wellness Forum, or Music Festival.

Anyone can play and Karla says there's lots of games and some fun holes before supper.

"Supper will be starting as soon as everyone is in from golfing their eighteen holes. It will be a steak sandwich supper and we'll be having prize presentations during the supper hour."

She reminds golfers to polish up their foot wedges for the novelty holes and afternoon games.

For $125 per person, the cost includes green fees, golf cart and supper. Call Karla at 306-741-8374 or Mark at 306-774-3333 for more information.
