With construction underway on the Leader Capital Project, the Cypress Health Region has added a new piece of equipment to the worksite.

A 24-megapixal camera has been incorporated into the worksite allowing for documentation of the construction process.

"We've had time-lapse cameras our last two capital projects, both in Maple Creek at the Southwest Intigrated Health Facility and at the Meadows," said Brenda Schwan, Capital Lead and Vice President of Continuing Care for Cypress Health Region. "Both the public and our staff have really enjoyed having the camera out there, because they can watch the project as it's progressing."

The camera which is mounted on the southeast corner of the construction site is capturing and updating images on a 15 minute cycle to the Cypress Health Region's website.

Schwan also provide an update on the contruction for the Leader Capital Project.

"The contruction in Leader is in full swing," she said. "It's probably at the exciting period for people that are driving by because you can see the structioral steel going up on the walls.

"What has happened to date is the crawl space has been dug out, the concrete foundations have been poured and they are installing the structorial steel go up for the wall to start to form."

Upon completion of the construction project, the images collected throughout construction period will be put together creating a time-lapse video.

The Cypress Health Region is reporting the construction progress is currently on schedule and the new acute care facility is expected to open in summer 2018.
