The Cypress Health Region is advising the public that x-ray services at the Leader Hospital will be unavailable until further notice.

Officials with the Health Region say that a water line located in the hospital's Diagnostic Imaging Department burst last Wednesday and caused considerable damage to the x-ray equipment.

A replacement x-ray unit has been ordered, but it is not expected to arrive until the end of September.

In the meantime, emergency x-ray service arrangements have been made with facilities in Cabri, Maple Creek, Kindersley, and Swift Current.  Patients in urgent need of x-ray services will be directed by the Leader physicians to those facilities as needed
