You can ring in the new year tomorrow night and help raise money for a local institution.

"It's an old time dance party at the Legion Hall," said Good Tyme Dance Club President Verna-Lynne Knipfel. "The purpouse of it is first of all a New Year's Eve celebration, but also to raise money for the Legion building fund."

"They're trying to raise money for renovations to the building."

It's a tall task to get all the funds they need.

"I just was talking with one of the board members," Knipfel said. "They need half a million dollars. They're part of the way there but they have a long ways to go. Whatever we can do to help would certainly be good."

There will be a live band, Conrad & his Prairie Pals from Shaunavon, including traditional dance music and some rock & roll.

They will have a New Year's celebration at midnight followed by a lunch with all proceeds going to the that Legion building fund.

The event costs $30 per person and you can get advanced tickets at the Legion office or Pharmasave.
