The Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires dropped a close game to the Tisdale Trojans, losing 3-2 to open a two-game homestand Saturday at the Credit Union iplex.
Conner Odelein scored for Swift Current in the first period, while Kyler Sachkowski added another in the third. Shane Blomquist made 23 saves as the Legionnaires outshot the Trojans 40-26.
The two teams play again tomorrow afternoon at 12:30pm from the iplex.
In other minor hockey Saturday, the Diamond Energy Female Midget Wildcats lost 3-0 to Regina, with the rematch tomorrow afternoon in the Queen City.
The K-Motel Midget AA Hurricanes tied the Notre Dame Bantam Hounds 3-3 with goals from Josh Dickie, Dominic Vallee and Tristan Carey. They head to White City to take on the Prairie Storm on Monday.
