Saskatchewan Legislature in Regina.

Saskatchewan's premier says politicians will have more time to debate bills when the legislature opens next month for a 25-day sitting.

Brad Wall said yesterday that the legislative assembly that starts October 13th will be a continuation of the current session, so there won't be a throne speech.

"We're going to have the same number of sitting days in the fall with the added question period. We're going to have legislation that's important to the province, " Wall said.

Bills are usually introduced in the fall and passed in the spring, but Wall says the government wants to put through some legislation before the provincial election slated for April.

One bill it wants to pass involves allowing private M-R-I's in the province, and Wall also wants to introduce amendments to Saskatchewan's essential services law, to make it compliant with a Supreme Court ruling.

Saskatchewan voters last went to the polls in November 2011, when Wall and his Saskatchewan Party won a second term in office.
