It will be a night to remember for Shaunavon's Kole Lind this evening in Ontario's capital as he draws into the Vancouver Canucks lineup for his first NHL game.

The Canucks second-round pick from 2017 appears to be slotted in on the team's third line alongside Brandon Sutter and Zach MacEwen for tonight's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

"I'm putting him in because I feel like he can help us win," Canucks Head Coach Travis Green told the media this morning was the reasoning he inserted Lind into the lineup. "I'm hoping he can give us a shot of energy. He looks confident."

The 22-year-old right-winger has played eight contests at the AHL level this year with the Utica Comets, notching five goals and adding three helpers.

The 6-foot-1 right-shot forward has appeared in 126 AHL games since the beginning of 2018 recording 24 goals and 45 assists.

The former Swift Current Legionnaire was added to Vancouver's taxi squad back on April 1 this season and was just recalled to the Canucks active roster on Monday.
