The Mini Chuckwagon Races are returning to the community of Eastend during their Dino Days celebrations.

These races are a lot like the big chuckwagon races, however, there are no outriders as the horses are 36 inches tall at the most and the wagons are one third of the size of the big chuckwagons.

Bill Byer is the President of the Alberta Mini Chuckwagon Racing Association. He says, "I think they're popular because a lot of people don't believe that these little animals will get out and do what they do. They love doing what they do. Once they get into the corrals and gettin' ready..ya know..getting their harness on an getting ready to go racing, they become a chuckwagon horse."

The races go Saturday afternoon July 23rd starting at one o'clock at the Eastend Rodeo Grounds.

The Mini Chuckwagons are sponsored by The Friends of Pine Cree Park and the Eastend Light Horse Society.
