Two local golfers are playing a marathon round to raise money for the Juvenille Diabetes Research Foundation.

Dean Toles and Richard Urano have been at it since 4:30am.

Toles, a pro at Elmwood, has a personal reason for his fundraising.

"My nieces has type 1 diabetes," said Toles. "So we wanted to do something just to kind of raise money for the foundation and help out a little bit."

As of 2:30pm they're through 126 holes at Elmwood, but were halted by a rain delay.

"We're definitely down, we're about two clubs shorter than we were when we started the day off," Toles said. "It's going good. The breaks make us stiffen up a little bit unfortunately, but it's been good so far."

Their goal is to reach 200 holes by the end of the day.

You can donate at Elmwood and Chinook, or by visiting the JDRF Walk website.

If you don't get a donation in by today you can still support the cause on that website.
