A Swift Current Program which helps at-risk youth find direction and opportunities has been given a large funding infusement from the federal government.

The Fresh Start program will receive a $118,000 portion of more than 5.7 million dollars going to programs in the province.

Manager, Sally Wiens, says the program has had to apply for the funding over the years but this is the largest amount that has been provided to the organization.

The Fresh Start program helps out close to 10 local youth every year, and focuses on three components including education, employment, and life-skills.
