The last Open Stage of the year will be sure to go out with a bang at Swift Current's historic Lyric Theatre tonight.
Designed in an open-mic setting, people have the chance to sign up and perform a variety of acts, from live music to stand up comedy.
"It's very much a community of performers and there's a good group of talented people here in Swift Current, and this is one of the only kind of venues where they get to come up and do their thing," said Marc Ruel of the Lyric Theatre. "We've got special guests, The Moon Runners, a great local band that are going to be playing at the end of the night and maybe a short set a little bit earlier, just to end the night with a really big bang."
Ruel adds the Open Stage program is one of the theatre's most popular events, and will continue into the New Year.
Admission is $5 at the door, and performers get in for free, with the show beginning at 8pm.
