On Friday April 7th, 2017 at 4:57 p.m. Kindersley RCMP received a call of a suspicious male hitchhiking on Highway 7 near Brock heading West towards Kindersley from Rosetown.

At 5:07 p.m RCMP received a driving complaint call of a Green Dodge car heading West on Highway 7 towards Kindersley from the Brock area. Members located the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle did not stop and continued towards Kindersley at high rates of speed. The vehicle was not pursued and officers lost sight of the suspect.

A call was received at 6:55 p.m. of two calls of theft from a liquor store in Kindersley. One that occurred around 2:00 p.m. and a second one that had just occurred by the same unknown male.

At 7:34 p.m officers received a complaint about a Green Dodge car looking for fuel in the Smiley Area. Officers headed out towards the call at Smiley, and at 7:51 p.m. a 911 call was received of a Green Dodge car involved in a gas and dash at a local gas station in Kindersley. Officers then headed East on Highway 7 towards Kindersley to attempt to locate the vehicle.

At 9:51 p.m a 911 call was received of a theft of a motor vehicle. An Orange Mitsubishi Eclipse was taken from a location 15 km north west of Kindersley near Coleville. A Green Dodge car was abandoned at the site.

At 10:01 p.m. a 911 call was received of an intoxicated male in the RM of Oakdale in a fenced compound at a gas site. Workers at the site escorted the male out of the compound and lost sight of him. Shortly after, RCMP officers arrived on scene and attempted to locate the male. RCMP Police Dog Services were called to the scene and at 2:30 a.m April 8th the suspect was located and taken into custody.

The 32-year-old-male, Kelly Maclean was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Mischief over $5000 Section 430(3)CC
  • Break and Entering with Intent Section 348(1)(a)CC
  • Failure to comply with condition of undertaking X2 Section 145(3)CC
  • Theft over $5000 Section 334(b)CC
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 Section 354(1)(a)CC
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 Section 354(1)(a)CC
  • Drive while disqualified Section 259(4)CC

Further Criminal Code charges are currently pending investigation.
