Teresa Mannle of RE/MAX of Swift Current is the newest member of the ASR Board of Directors

A local real estate agent has been named a member of the board of directors for the Association of Saskatchewan Realtors.

Teressa Mannle, Associate Broker with RE/MAX of Swift Current, has been selling real estate in the city for a decade, and has had her brokers' license for six years.

"It's something new, and I'm hoping it can get Swift Current involved in more of the Realtor-type events that are going on in Saskatchewan and perhaps across the country," she said. "We're in the southwestern corner of the province, and we can get forgotten down here, so it's good to get a little recognition and keep up on what's happening across the province. We used to have a golf tournament here every summer, and maybe we can get something like that going again... anything at all that will remind people that we're here and we're doing well."

Mannle says the city hasn't felt any adverse effects from the real estate market, adding the community is doing quite well across the board.

"Right now, we don't have a lot of listings in Swift Current, but basically, we've kind of evened out with buyers and sellers, so it's kind of a balanced market here," she said. "It's different right across Saskatchewan and into Alberta, and it depends on their environment and who's looking to buy and sell in their areas."

The other new director to the ASR board was Carmen Cartier from Prince Albert. Ian Johnston, a Realtor with Century 21 Dome Realty in Regina, was named the President of the board.
