The Maple Creek Primary Health Care Clinic is preparing for a physical office move to the Maple Creek Hospital.

The move is part of the new Southwest Integrated Health Facility, which will have all health providers in the same building and working more effectively as a team.

The early move will make for an easier transition when the new facility opens, and it will help them focus more on their top priority, the patients.

"In that new facility, we will see all services under one roof," said Health Services Manager for the Cypress Health Region Kim Swanson, "so this is an opportunity for us to do this ahead of time, have the doctors in the hospital, and providing those services all in one place."

He added the team will have some time to adapt to the new surroundings before the new facility opens its doors on Tuesday, October 2nd.

"If you're maybe mobility impaired or it's -30, I have one location, everything is co-located.  I come here I see my doctor, then I turn around and go down the hallway and have my lab or x-ray.  It also allows us to get used to the model of care that will be in the new facility."

The current clinic will be closed Friday September 28th for the move.
