Aneroid's Patrick Marleau had an assist as his San Jose Sharks edged St. Louis 2-1, and Maple Creek's Zack Smith also had a helper in Ottawa's 3-1 win over the Islanders. Stewart Valley's Travis Moen and the Habs beat the Rangers 3-1.

Meanwhile, Former Bronco Paul Postma and the Jets beat Buffalo 2-1, Tampa Bay doubled up Colton Orr and the Leafs 4-2, Ian White and the Red Wings lost 4-3 in overtime to Nashville, and Dale Wiese and the Canucks dropped a 4-3 decision in the shootout to Chicago, who ran their point-streak to 16 games to tie an NHL record for points in consecutive games to start a season.

The defending champion LA Kings beat Edmonton 3-1 to round out last night's action.

Tonight, Shaunavon's Brayden Coburn and the Philadelphia Flyers travel to Pittsburgh to take on Sidney Crosby and the Penguins (6:30pm, TSN2). The two other games tonight have St. Louis visiting Colorado (9:00pm, TSN2), and LA continuing their Alberta break in Calgary (9:00pm, TSN).
