Shaunavon RCMP are asking for the public's assistance in solving the following crime.

This past Sunday two kids SkiDoo GT sleds were taken from a backyard of a residence on third street east in Shaunavon. These sleds look like ski doos and are described as bright yellow with sticker headlights.

Anyone with information on this theft should contact Shaunavon RCMP or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.

Police are also warning everyone that in recent months a number of complaints have been received about phone calls from people claiming to be with computer security companies and prize, lottery or sweepstakes companies asking for personal and credit card information.

There have also been reports of people's computers being frozen or they have been locked out of their computers after receiving pop up messages. These message, which claim to be from RCMP, CSIS or other law enforcement agencies, tell the person to pay $100 to unlock their computer. These types of messages are called scareware messages and are scams. Do not respond or click on these types of messages.

If you receive phone calls or scareware messages, please contact local Police or the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre to report it.
