Following a two week nomination process, an independent panel of judges selected forty winners from hundreds of nominees as the top leaders, builders, or change-makers under the age of forty who are making a significant difference in their field to help shape the future of the Saskatchewan.

City of Swift Current Mayor Jerrod Schafer has made this exclusive list indicating that just to have been nominated was an honour and now to have made the top 40 is very exciting.

“I’m humbled and thrilled to be a part of such a diverse and motivated group,” said Schafer.  “I’m really proud that so many young people are staying in our province and working so we can be proud to call Saskatchewan home.  I’m fortunate to have worked with and learned from amazing individuals in the province and across the country.”

Every Future 40 winner has been profiled on CBC Radio One's The Morning Edition or CBC News: Saskatchewan at 5 throughout the week.

Born and raised in Swift Current, Mayor Schafer is an Investment Advisor and Vice President with National Bank Financial Wealth Management. In 2010, He was named Top Young Professional in the province by SYPE (Saskatchewan Young Professional & Entrepreneurs Association) and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Saskatchewan City Mayors Caucus and Vice Chair of the Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of Fame.
