Our newsroom was flooded with calls around suppertime last night, all regarding a strange flash of light spotted north of Swift Current.

That bright flash was apparently a meteor falling from the northern sky at around 6:30pm las night, and it did cause some concern for most residents in the city.

The meteor reportedly had sightings in communities from as far north as Edmonton all the way south into Regina and into the eastern part of Saskatchewan.

No word yet on where the meteor may have struck, however some unconfirmed reports indicate it may have touched down in Southern Alberta.
