Beginning on Monday, most of the shops and services that remain closed due to COVID-19 will be reopening.

As phase 4 of the province's reopen strategy continues forward, Premier Scott Moe announced the remaining dates at his daily press conference yesterday afternoon.

July 6, 2020:

  • Indoor recreational facilities like pools, rinks and other sports venues.
  • Performing arts venues, including music, dance and theatre.
  • Seating capacity at bars and restaurants will increase to a level that allows for staff and customers to maintain 2 metres of physical distance.

July 9, 2020:

  • Casinos and Bingo Halls.

July 16, 2020:

  • Racetracks and rodeo-related activities.
  • Live entertainment in licensed establishments.

Moe added that in addition to the increased seating capacity, bars would also be able to open up their recreation areas, including VLTs, pool tables, dartboards and other entertainment as long as physical distancing could be maintained.

As usual, with all of these new openings, increased cleaning and disinfecting will also be required.

For the services scheduled to open on July 16, guidelines are still being established.
