Folks can head out to Mortlach this Saturday for the Saskatoon Berry Festival - a pretty big festival for a small town.

The Mortlach Saskatoon Berry festival is back for it's eighth year, and festival spokesperson, Robert Cummings says there's no shortage of activities for everyone.

"There's arts and crafts vendors all up and down Main Street, and that's from 9am to 6pm, and 11am is the parade. From 11am to 4pm there's saskatoon pie and ice cream in the Hall, which is always very popular, and from 2pm to the afternoon there's music at the main stage in the Hall," he said. "For a small town, it's really something to be part of. It's hard to believe we can get this many people out. It's something to see."

The festival was commonly held in July, but Cummings says that they changed dates to try and attract more people.

"The reason why is because there was so many other things going on that we thought we would try an earlier date to try and get some more people out to Mortlach," he said.

Admission for the festival is five dollars per person, and kids under 12 get in for free.
